Is software engineering part of Engineering or related to Engineering department

Answer is NO Software engineering is a course under computing

##This course is a cycle of :

  • web development
  • Fullstack developer
  • software developer
  • UI/UX designer
  • Frontend developer
  • backend developer
  • database consultant

so is it actually Engineering? The short answer is No. At FUOYE, Software Engineering sits comfortably in the Faculty of Computing (Oye Campus), not the Faculty of Engineering (which is over at Ikole).

Why does this matter to you?

The Certificate: If you graduate from the Faculty of Engineering, you get a B.Eng. But as a Software Engineer, you’ll be coming out with a B.Sc. Don’t sweat it, though - tech companies care way more about your GitHub profile and your coding skills than the letters on your degree!

The Focus:

we are focused on the logic of code Java, HTML, React.js, Nest.js, Node.js, Typescript .... We build the apps, websites, and systems that run the world. It’s more about "how can I solve this problem with a script?" than HOW DO I BUILD A PHYSICAL ENGINE?

Professional Bodies:

Engineering students look forward to joining COREN. For us, it’s all about the CPN (Computer Professionals of Nigeria) and getting those big international certifications like Google or AWS, Microsoft.

  • Pro-Tip for Applicants:Before you register, check your JAMB subject combination! Since we aren't "traditional" engineering, you usually don't need Chemistry as much as you need a solid grade in Mathematics and Physics.
  • Fun-Tip: if ran from chemistry in jamb It will run to you in hundred level 😂 (But just First semester).
  • Hoping To meet you by Oct/Nov Champs.
  • Unrelated: Fuoye gonna stress you out 😂.
